Dujue’ tosses no-hitter in Cal Ripken

Elisha Dujue’ tossed a no-hitter, striking out 13 batters in five innings, as Lions topped Swain’s 3-1 in Cal Ripken Majors baseball action last Friday.

The Lions didn’t take the lead until the fifth inning when with one out Kason Albaugh doubled, driving in a run.

Nine-year-old Aidric McBride secured his first Majors-level hit and scored a run.

Rylan Politika and Albaugh each drove in an RBI to lead Lions at the plate.

Eagles wing Swain’s

PORT ANGELES — Tyler Hunter singled and doubled and Easton Merritt homered to lead Eagles past Swain’s 9-2 in Cal Ripken Baseball action Monday.

Merritt also started the game on the mound and went three innings before giving way to Kellen Garcelon, who pitched the final three frames.

Eagles totaled eight walks in the win.

Local pays dues

PORT ANGELES — Local 155 topped Athletes’ Choice 10-7 in recent Olympic Junior Babe Ruth action.

Caleb Ripley went 3 for 4 with three RBIs and a run and Eli Cyr was 2 for 4 with a run to lead the way for Local’s hitters.

Isaiah Waterhouse and Derek Bowechop each singled and scored three runs for Local. Chastain Richards and Matt Mangano also had hits for Local.

Waterhouse, Bowechop and Mason Nickovich combined to strike out 10 for Local.

Tanner Walker was 3 for 4 and scored a pair of runs for Athletes’ Choice.

Hunter Robinson, Kamron Meadows, Gunnar Volkmann, Sean Hanrahan and Brayden Emery also had hits for Athletes’ Choice.

Athletes’ toss 4-hitter

PORT ANGELES — Wyatt Hall and Tanner Walker combined to allow four hits and struck out six for Athletes’ Choice in a 15-4 Olympic Junior Babe Ruth victory over Swain’s on Monday.

Hunter Robinson led Athletes’ at the plate with two doubles and a single. Walker added three hits and Hall singled twice.

Trenton Indelicato added two singles and Aaron Edmiston also had a hit for Athletes’ Choice.

Adam Watkins, Tanner Price, Austin Seelye and Brantyn Fisler all had hits for Swain’s. James Burkhart made some great plays at shortstop for Swain’s.

Kiwanis dialed in

PORT ANGELES — Kiwanis topped KONP 11-2 in a recent 16U softball contest. Amaris Martinez and Jada Cargo-Acosta came home on wild pitches to open the scoring for Kiwanis in the bottom of the first.

KONP scored its runs when Ella Holland and Aisha Mathis scored on throwing errors in the top of third. Holland singled and Mathis was hit by a pitch to reach base.

Backing up on an overthrow, Kiwanis left fielder Madison Belbin threw a strike to catcher Jasmine Cottam to gun down a runner at the plate for the inning’s third out.

Kiwanis broke the game open with a five-run outburst in the bottom of the third and improved to 6-0 on the season.
