Rotary bowls over Laurel Lanes

PORT ANGELES — Ty Bradow pitched and batted Nor’wester Rotary past Laurel Lanes in a 7-1 12U Cal Ripken League baseball victory.

Bradow struck out 10, and only lost his shutout in the sixth and final inning.

He also went 2 for 3 at the plate.

Braden Emery hit a three-run home run in the first inning to get things rolling for Rotary.

Emery finished 2 for 3.

Emery on fire

PORT ANGELES — Eric Emery drove in seven runs in Athlete’s Choice’s 16-6 triumph against Sequim First Federal in Olympic Junior Babe Ruth baseball action.

Emery was a double away from the cycle, collecting a homer, a triple and a single in the win.

Ethan Flodstrom went 2 for 3 and scored three runs for Athlete’s Choice, and Brody Merritt was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

Tanner Walker, Sean Hanrahan and Gunnar Volkman all recorded RBI singles for the winners, and Kamron Meadows singled and walked twice.

Merritt recorded his second win of the season while allowing a run on no hits, two walks and striking out seven.

Flodstrom allowed five runs, three earned, on two hits and four walks in 2 1/3 innings pitched.

Michael Grubb had hits for Sequim First Federal.
