Swain’s bags wins over Rotary, Hi-Tech

PORT ANGELES — Swain’s picked up two Cal Ripken 12U baseball victories in two nights, edging Hi-Tech 6-5 in seven innings Wednesday and beating Rotary 13-3 in four innings Thursday.

After Hi-Tech scored two runs to open extra innings, Swain’s battled back and won the game when Matt Magano scored on a passed ball.

Kamron Noard, Matt Mangano, Chase Cobb and Beckett Jarnagin shared the pitching duties for Swain’s.

Bryton Amsdill and Payton Cagey, both 9, each collected their first hits of the season for Swain’s.

Mangano tripled and Chase Cobb doubled.

For Hi-Tech, Meadows, Tucker Rygaard, Landon Siebel and Adam Watkins each had singles.

Against Rotary, Swain’s trailed 2-0 early after Logan Beebe doubled home Ty Bradow and Jake Felton, who both reached on singles.

Swain’s took the lead in the bottom of the first by sending eight players to the plate and scoring four runs.

Kamron Noard pitched the entire game for Swain’s and gave up six hits.

Swains collected eight hits, including doubles by Robby Fors and Mangano.

Beckett Jarnagin and Cobb each had two singles each for Swain’s.

Hi-Tech bags Elks

PORT ANGELES — Hi-Tech earned an 8-6 win against Elks in 12U Cal Ripken baseball action.

Hi-Tech was led at the plate by Landon Seibel and Kamron Meadows.

Wyatt Hall and Connor Bear paced Elks’ offense.

Labor in close one

PORT ANGELES — Katie Lau and Anna Petty each struck out two batters and added base hits in Olympic Labor Council’s 16-15 12U softball win over Boulevard Wellness Center.

Raven Taylor added a base hit while Anna Brandt went 2 for 3 with a single and a double.

Ella Holland and Madison Belbin hit singles for Boulevard Wellness Center and Krystall Donnell had a stand-up double.

Cheyenne Zimmer pitched a complete game for Boulevard and had two strikeouts.

Jim’s prescribes win

PORT ANGELES — Anne Edwards had three strikeouts and Abbie Keller had three hits as Jim’s Pharmacy defeated PA Power 17-6 in 12U softball Friday.

Keller went 3 for 3 with two doubles and a single in the win.

Edwards, Katrina Gregory and Kylei Hutton each had three singles and Kristina Shumway went 2 for 2 with a pair of singles for Jim’s.

PA Power received strong hitting from Mady Massman, who went 2 for 2, including a hard-hit line drive single up the middle.

PA Power also had nice defensive plays from pitcher Elizabeth Groff and shortstop Anna Gentry.

Kiwanis pulls away late to top ILWU

PORT ANGELES — Kiwanis defeated ILWU 13-5 in a four-inning time-restricted 16U softball game.

Isabelle Cottam pitched struck out six in three innings of work in Wednesday’s game to get the win.

Abbi Cottam drew a bases-loaded walk to bring in Aiyana Jackson to open the scoring for Kiwanis in the bottom of the first.

Kiwanis added four more runs their next time up before ILWU sent 10 batters to the plate in the third inning, scoring five runs and tying the game at 5-5.

A run in the third and seven more in the fourth pushed Kiwanis to the win.

Aeverie Politika pitched the final inning in relief of Cottam.

Taylor Rixon had three walks and scored three runs.

Holly Doust was 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Cottam had a hit and two RBIs.

Power outage

PORT ANGELES — Tranco upended Port Angeles Power Equipment 18-6 in 12U softball play.

Peyton Hefton and Camille Stensgard combined to strike out five PA Power batters in Wednesday’s game.

Aiesha Mathis was 2 for 2 with a double, a walk, two RBIs and three runs for Tranco.

Zoe Smithson was 2 for 3 with two runs; Peyton Hefton had a hit, two walks and scored three runs; and Emi Halberg had a hit, two walks, stole two bases and scored three runs.

Teagan Clark added a hit, a walk, a stolen base, two RBIs and two runs.
