YOUTH SOCCER BRIEFS: Registration open for Sequim Junior Soccer, Storm King’s Shooting Stars program and the Peninsula Soccer Academy

SEQUIM — Registration is open for Sequim Junior Soccer’s spring youth soccer season.

Players ages 3 to 14, potential coaches and sponsors can all register at www.sequimjuniorsoccer.com.

Registration is open through Feb. 28 on a space-available basis.

If an age group fills up before Feb. 28, that group will close and a waitlist will be started.

The first games for U5 to U14 teams will be held April 11 and April 25 for Mini Ballers with practices beginning one to two weeks before the first game.

The season will end June 6 for all youth teams.

Soccer academy

PORT ANGELES — Registration is open at www.paysc.com for the Peninsula Soccer Academy, a youth soccer partnership between Peninsula College and the Port Angeles Youth Soccer Club.

The academy will be held at Peninsula College’s Wally Sigmar Field evenings in April and May.

Players born in 2013 and 2014 (U6-U7) will train from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays from April 21 to May 19. The cost is $45.

Those born from 2009 to 2012 (U8-U11) will train from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from April 13 to May 20. The cost is $70.

Older players born between 2003 and 2008 (U12-U17) will train from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 14 to May 21. The cost is $70.

Shooting Stars

SEQUIM — Shooting Stars, a new weekly youth soccer training program for ages 3-5 and 6-8 will begin Saturday, Jan. 25, in Sequim.

Seven weekly sessions will be held at the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St.

Ages 3 to 5 will practice from 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m. with ages 6 to 8 following from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The cost is $25 for ages 3 to 5, which includes a Storm King jersey and a size one ball and $30 for ages 6 to 8, also with a Storm King jersey and a size three ball included.

The sessions will feature “parent-inclusive activities.”
