YOUTH BASKETBALL: Port Angeles Elite girls win division at Holiday Hoops Tourney

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Elite Sixth-Grade girls’ team won its division at the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation’s Holiday Hoops Tourney this weekend.

Port Angeles Elite won the championship by beating Stanwood 43-33.

Three other Port Angeles teams made it to the championship games in their divisions — the Port Angeles fourth-grade boys, the Port Angeles White fifth-grade boys and the Port Angeles girls fifth-grade team.

Final standings include:

• Boys Fourth-Grade Division — Bainbridge Roots, first; Port Angeles, second; Anacortes Seahawks, third; Sequim Wolves, fourth. Championship Game: Roots 31, Port Angeles 20.

• Boys Fifth-Grade Division — Bainbridge Roots Navy, first; Port Angeles White, second; Forks Rebels, third; Bainbridge Roots Gold, fourth; Port Angeles Green, fifth; Sequim Wolves, sixth. Championship Game: Roots Navy 43, Port Angeles White 16.

• Boys Sixth-Grade Division — Anacortes Seahawks, first; Blaine Borderites, second; PNW Rain (Bellingham), third; South Kitsap Elite, fourth; Bainbridge Roots, fifth; Port Angeles Green, sixth; Drive Basketball (Poulsbo), seventh. Championship Game: Anacortes 44, Blaine 20.

• Boys Seventh-Grade Division — Peninsula Seahawks, first; Bainbridge Roots, second; Drive Blue, third; Port Angeles Green, fourth; Sequim Wolves, fifth; Drive White, sixth; Port Angeles White, seventh. Championship Game: Seahawks 65, Roots 33.

• Boys Eighth-Grade Division — South Kitsap Elite, first; Blaine Borderites, second; Port Angeles Green, third; Drive Basketball, fourth; Port Angeles White, fifth.

• Girls Fifth-Grade Division — Auburn WABA, first; Port Angeles, second; Ingelmoor Vikings, third; Bainbridge Roots, fourth. Championship Game: Auburn 24, Port Angels 14.

• Girls Sixth-Grade Division — Port Angeles Elite, first; Stanwood Spartans, second; Ingelmoor Vikings, third; Bainbridge Roots, fourth. Championship Game: Port Angeles 43, Stanwood 33.

• Girls Seventh-Grade Division — Cashmere Bulldogs, first; Meadowdale Lady Mavericks, second; Port Angeles Fire & Ice, third; Ingelmoor Vikings, fourth. Championship Game: Cashmere 51, Meadowdale 23.
