YOUTH BASEBALL: Olympic Junior Babe Ruth bounced early at regional tournament

MERIDIAN, Idaho — Olympic Junior Babe Ruth was ousted from the 13U Pacific Northwest Regional tournament shy of the championship round.

The area baseball team of Port Angeles and Sequim players went 2-2 at the regional tournament.

After splitting a pair of games Wednesday, Olympic lost to Camas 12-7 on Thursday, and then finished pool play with a 12-11 win over The Dalles on Friday.

Olympic finished tied for second in the National Division. Only the top two teams moved on to Saturday’s championship round, and Olympic was left out because it lost the head-to-head matchup with the other second-place team, Twin Falls.

Olympic qualified for regionals by winning the Junior Babe Ruth 13U state championship earlier this month.
