Eagles soar in opener

PORT ANGELES — Eagles opened its Cal Ripken 12U baseball season with an 11-1 win over Hi-Tech Electronics.

The combined pitching efforts of Jordan Shumway, Cole Johnson, Jacob Oliver and Owen Leitz held Hi-Tech to one run on four hits.

Offensively, Eagles totaled eight hits with Kaeden Indelicato going 2 for 2 and scoring three times. Easton Fischer started the bottom of the first with a solid hit to left field. Josiah Gooding had an RBI double in the top of the third for Hi-Tech.

Kiwanis romps

PORT ANGELES — Rianne Rodocker went 2 for 3 and scored two runs as Kiwanis beat KONP 14-2 in 16U softball action.

Meadow Robinson went 1 for 2 for Kiwanis with two runs and Alexis Perry faced 10 batters in her three innings on the mound, walking two and striking out two, while getting help from her defense.

Brittany Clark doubled for KONP, Grace Possinger singled and Emma Burrow scored a run after some good base running.

Clark also had five strikeouts for KONP.

Boulevard wins

PORT ANGELES — Mikkiah Stevens struck out four in three innings and Becca Manson was 1 for 3 with two RBIs as Boulevard Wellness beat Leitz Farms 8-5 in 12U softball.

Lynzee Reid struck out six in three innings for Leitz.
