FORKS — For the fourth straight season the Forks Spartans tore through the Evergreen League with a perfect record.
Forks finished the league wrestling season with a 61-15 victory over Hoquiam on Tuesday in what was the Spartans’ only home match of the season.
In the final home match of his career, Hugo Lucas rallied to pin Hoquiam’s Austin Prosch in the third round of the 138-pound match. Lucas was competing up a class from his usual 132-pound division.
“Great come-from-behind win,” Forks coach Bob Wheeler said.
Another senior, Joel Mohn, also earned a pin in the 160-pound class by finishing off Albert Lopez in the second round.
The Spartans’ other three seniors also won, but not with the flair of Lucas and Mohn.
Tristan Tumaua (285 pounds) won by injury default over Erik Torres, while Joseph Mariner (152) and Alvaro Ortiz (120) each won by forfeit.
Three Forks freshmen won by pin in what was the first home matches of their varsity careers: 106-pounder Josue Lucas took down Alex Houbregs in the first round, 126-pounder Keith Thompson pinned Daryn Kaczmarczyk in the second round and 132-pounder Colby Demorest pinned Andres Vazquez in the second round.
Gavin Palmer won the 145-pound match for the Spartans by a 10-2 major decision over Jordan Zapata.
Jack Dahlgren continued to dominate the 182-pound class by taking an 8-4 decision over Artimus Johnson.
Forks closes out its regular season at the All Comers Tournament in Sequim this Saturday.

BELFAIR — The Wolves won another dual to clinch the school’s second consecutive winning record in Olympic League meets.
Sequim finished 4-3 last season and wrapped league with a 5-3 mark this season.
“They had to give up three forfeits to us, but head to head we matched up well with them,” Wolves coach Charles Drabek said.
“And the three weights they forfeited, those were against some of our top guys like Adrian [Klarich] and Michael [Latimer] and Dylan [Perreira].”
Sequim and North Mason each won five matches, but the Wolves earned more pins by a three to two margin.
Kevyn Ward (160-pounds) earned a first-round pin, while Grant Pierson (145) and Craig Baker (138) also recorded pins.
“Craig Baker was really impressive,” Drabek said.
“He was behind on the scoreboard but he put his kid on his back and pinned him in the third.”
Ben Newell also made a come-from-behind charge to win his 132-pound match 3-2.
Hayden Gresli earned a 7-2 decision to round out Sequim’s winners.
The Wolves host Port Angeles, Port Townsend and Forks, plus five other teams for an all-comer match at 10 a.m. Saturday.
