WRESTLING: Forks boys win home tournament

FORKS — The Forks boys won their season-opening invitational wrestling tournament, edging out Port Angeles, East Jefferson and Sequim.

The Spartans finished with 186.5 points in Saturday’s tournament, while Port Angeles had 151.5, East Jefferson 132.5 and Sequim 112. Ilwaco, Onalaska and Mossyrock rounded out the bottom three teams.

East Jefferson won the girls meet with 51.5 points, while Forks had 29. Port Angeles was fourth with 15 and Sequim fifth with 13.

The Forks boys won seven weight divisions: Matthew Montes, 113; Walker Rondeau, 138; Colton Hunt, 145; Walker Wheeler, 152; Kaleb Blanton, 160; Aiden Ivey, 170; Nate Dahlgren, 195 and Sloan Tumaua, 285.

Port Angeles wrestlers took first in two weight divisions.

Raymond Rodriguez was first at 126 pounds and Adric McBride first at 132. Sequim also won in two weights. Aiden Galvin was first at 106 pounds and Ari Skov first at 182.

For the girls, LaRayne Blair of Forks took first at 100-105 pounds, Faye Dachs of Port Angeles at 110-115, Mi Amada Lanphear-Ramirez of East Jefferson at 120, Chole Lampert of East Jefferson at 125, Willow Harvey of Port Angeles at 130-135 and Melody Douglas of East Jefferson at 155.
