FORKS — The Forks boys and East Jefferson girls wrestling teams won against teams from southwest Washington and around the Olympic Peninsula in the Forks Invitational tournament Saturday.
The Forks boys won with 180.5 team points, with Port Angeles second at 95.5, East Jefferson third at 80.0 and Sequim fourth at 66.5.
For the girls, East Jefferson won a narrow team victory with 31 points to Forks’ 30. Sequim came in third at 23 points, while Port Angeles had 10.
There were also teams from Ilwaco, Mossyrock and Onalaska at the meet.
Boys
Forks won seven weight divisions, while East Jefferson won two of the heavier divisions. Port Angeles won two weights and Sequim one.
Forks’ Matthew Montes won the 106-113 weight division with three wins, while Cayden Beauregard of Sequim went 2-1 to come in second.
Jesus Garcia Dominguez of Forks took first in the 120 division with a pair of wins.
Conner Demorest of Forks won the 126 division with three wins. Sean Lyman of Port Angeles took second by splitting two matches.
Forks’ Dalton Kilmer won the 132 division, beating Port Angeles’ Raymond Rodriguez in the first-place match with a pin. Rodriguez took second in the division.
Roughrider Phoenix Flores won the 138 division with three straight wins, while Forks’ William Perez went 2-1 to take second.
Spartan Walker Wheeler took first in the 145 division, beating Ethan Abrams of Port Angeles by technical fall in the championship match. Abrams took second.
Port Angeles’ Jack Harrelson took first in the 152 division, winning a 3-2 decision over Christopher Lake of Ilwaco in the championship bout.
Jake Weakley of Forks won the 160 division with three straight wins. Sequim’s Aaron Tolberd of went 2-1 to take second.
Mirek Skov of Sequim took first in the 170 division, beating teammate Ari Skov in the championship match. Ari Skov took second in this division.
Hayden Queen of Forks won the 182 division, beating Logan Massie of East Jefferson with a pin in the title bout.
Gage Berry of East Jefferson won at 195 pounds with a 3-0 day. Connor Earles of Forks took second, going 2-1.
X Hernandez-Duran of East Jefferson finished second at 220 pounds. The division was won by Mossyrock’s Marshall Brockway.
At 285, Beau Manuel of East Jefferson took first with a pair of wins. Zan Miller of Port Angeles took second, splitting two matches.
Girls
Allie Coons of Forks won the 100-pound weight division while Natalie Johnson won at 110.
Forks’ Peyton Johnson won the 120-pound division by beating Summer Shoop of East Jefferson.
At 125 pounds, Jordan Hegtvedt of Sequim took first place, winning two out of three matches against Port Angeles’ Faye Dachs.
At 130-135, the Roughriders’ Willow Harvey took first with a pair of wins.
Petra Bernsten of Sequim took first at 140-145 pounds with three wins. Aspen Rondeau of Forks took second with a pair of wins.
Isabella Gonzalez-Adams of Sequim took second in the 190-235 weight division.
