PORT ANGELES — Today’s quarterfinal match between the Peninsula College women’s soccer team and Treasure Valley is an East vs. West showdown with a trip to the Northwest Athletic Conference Final Four awaiting the winner.
The Pirates are ranked No. 1 in the NWAC and No. 6 in the latest National Soccer Coaches Association of America Junior College Division I Poll.
Peninsula finished the regular season with a 17-1-2 record, 15-1-2 in conference play, tying Highline for the West Division championship, the Pirates’ fourth straight title.
Treasure Valley, meanwhile, is ranked No. 6 in the NWAC poll, after going 14-3-4 in their regular season, including an 11-3-3 effort that left them in second place in the East.
The Chukars defeated Edmonds in a shootout in the first round of the playoffs at home in Ontario, Ore.
Dynamic defense

Sophomore Kasie Lough has allowed one goal and leads the team with seven shutouts.
Redshirt freshman Mania Siania-Unutoa also has allowed one goal and has recorded three shutouts.
At the offensive end, the Pirates are the second in the NWAC in scoring with 77 goals.
The balanced attack is led by C.J. Stetser with 10, Lexi Krieger with nine, and seven each from Tasha Inong, Paige Mahuka and Mary Pierce.
