WENATCHEE — The Wilder Senior baseball team completed a five-game road trip on a winning note, beating the Wenatchee Apple Packers 9-2.

Tuesday’s victory gave Wilder Senior a 3-2 record on the trip. Wilder Senior won two out of three against Wenatchee and scored 32 runs in the three games.

“It was a great end to our road trip taking the series against the Packers. Overall this was the most complete game that we played this whole trip, putting together great performances on the mound, in the field, and at the plate,” said coach Karl Myers.

Curan Bradley pitched an outstanding game, going 5 1/3 innings, giving up four hits, one walk and two earned runs, while striking out five.

“Bradley was outstanding on the mound today … commanding the zone and competing in the zone; their guys could never quite figure him out. Very proud of his attitude up there, it was an impressive outing for Curan,” Myers said.

“Defensively, our guys were rock solid behind Curan all game long. Gavin [Guerrero] and Luke [Angevine] put on a show up the middle making a number of great plays; it was fun to watch those two work together and make things happen defensively,” Myers said.

“Offensively, it was a great weekend at the plate for us, in 3 games against a very good 19U Apple Packers program we scored 32 runs on 37 hits including seven extra base hits, hitting .411 as a club for the series,” Myers said.

Angevine also continued his torrid hitting on the trip, going 3 for 4 with a triple and a stolen base. He drove in two runs and scored two. Angevine hit 9 for 16 (.563) with two triples, two doubles and a home run on the five-game trip.

Matt Hendry and Joel Wood each had doubles with Wood driving in three runs. Wood, Bo Bradow, Carson Jackson and Kole Milyard all had two hits.

Wilder Senior and Wilder Junior will host the annual Dick Brown Memorial Firecracker Invite at Civic Field Friday through Monday.

The two area teams will play each other at 4 p.m. Sunday.
