WILDER SENIOR: Boys run into tough pitching at TCC Showcase

TACOMA — The Wilder Senior baseball team got some good pitching, but also ran into spectacular pitching in two losses this week at the Tacoma Community College Showcase.

Wilder was in a dogfight with Diamond Jaxx, based out of Puyallup, until the bottom of the sixth inning Friday when the Jaxx scored five runs en route to an 8-0 win. Wilder managed just two hits in the game, both by Bo Bradow.

Chance Wilson pitched a solid five innings, giving up eight hits and three earned runs while striking out three and walking two.

This was a solid defensive game, with neither team committing an error.

In a Thursday game at the showcase, Bradow gave up just one run in six innings, but Wilder could only manage three hits in a 5-1 loss against the Portland Baseball Club. Again, much like the Jaxx game, this contest was close until the end when Portland scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Matt Hendry had two hits, including a double, while Luke Angevine had Wilder’s other hit.

Bradow went the distance with three strikeouts, eight hits and zero walks.
