WILDER BASEBALL: Wilder Jr. splits four games; Wilder A off to 3-0 start

Brayden Martin pitches a no-hitter for A squad

CENTRALIA — Wilder Jr. split four games this weekend, while the Wilder A team is off to a scorching 3-0 start, with one of their victories coming on a no-hitter pitched by Brayden Martin.

Wilder Jr. began its weekend by beating Tenino 15-3 on Friday, then lost in an extra-inning thriller to I-5 Jeep Renegades 9-8 on Saturday. The junior club bounced back by crushing Centralia 10-0 on Sunday behind a two-hit complete-game shutout by Rylen Politika, then lost 6-2 to LCBC.

In the Tenino game, Gunner Rogers was 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBIs, while Aiden Swenson was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI. Landon Olson was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI and Politika was 1-4 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

The trio of Rogers, Jack Delgado and Trea Hanan combined for a five-hitter, striking out six and allowing only one earned run.

In the I-5 game, Wilder Jr. was down 6-2, but rallied with four runs in the seventh inning to tie the game and send it to extra innings. Wilder Jr. added two runs in the top of the eighth, but I-5 got the walk-off win with three runs in the bottom of the eighth.

Kaeden Indelicato was 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBIs, while Politika was 2-for-4 and Hanan 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Swenson had a double, two runs scored and two walks.

Ethan Staples pitched five innings, allowing seven hits and two earned runs. He struck out five. Brady Rudd pitched two scoreless innings, striking out three. Landon Olson took the loss in the eighth.

Against Centralia, Politika for the third time this season had both a double and a triple in a game. He scored a run and drove in three. He struck out five as the winning pitcher.

Against LCBC, Politika, Rogers and Hanan all had hits, with Hanan driving in a run. Brandt Perry pitched five innings, allowing six hits while striking out six.

Wilder A

Wilder A is off to a spectacular start, beating the Northwest Sting 10-0 on Sunday to complete a perfect weekend.

The duo of Owen Leitz and Carston Seibel combined for a three-hitter.

Easton Fisher went 2-for-3 and Ryland Proiette was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Seibel hit a double and drove in two runs.

On Saturday, Wilder A swept the Riverdogs 14U team 11-0 and 20-1. In the 11-0 game, Brayden Martin went the distance, allowing zero hits and striking out seven.

Ian Smithson was 2-for-3 and scored three runs, while Martin had a hit, drove in two runs and scored two runs. Seibel hit a double, drove in a run and scored a run.

Wilder A collected 14 hits and stole 17 bases in its 20-1 victory.

Smithson was 3-for-5 with a double and three RBIs. Martin had a hit and an RBI, scoring three times and stealing four bases.

Fisher was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBIs, while Ethan Swenson was 3-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.

Harris Bower pitched a complete-game two-hitter, allowing one earned run and striking out seven.
