WILDER BASEBALL: Wilder Jr.’s Adams, Jarnigan go wild at the plate on the weekend

PORT ANGELES — The Wilder Jr. baseball club got a ton of offense from Lucas Jarnigan and Timmy Adams, sweeping a pair of games against North Kitsap AA and Sedro-Woolley.

Wilder Jr. beat North Kitsap 11-1 and Sedro-Wooley 19-9 on Saturday. The team also lost a Sunday morning game 10-4 against the Burlington AA Sox.

Adams and Jarnigan were on fire all weekend. Against North Kitsap, Jarnigan went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run, scoring two runs and driving in a run.

Against Sedro-Woolley, Adams was 4 for 5 with two doubles and a triple, scoring four runs and driving in four. Jarnigan was 2 for 4 with two doubles, driving in three runs and scoring two runs.

Against the Burlington Sox, Adams and Jarnigan provided most of the offense. Adams was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, while Jarnigan was 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and three RBIs.

In the three games combined, Adams was 6 for 12 with two doubles and a triple while Jarnigan was 6 for 12 with four doubles and a home run.

It wasn’t all Jarnigan and Adams. Other kids had good games as well. Against North Kitsap, Tate Gahimer had a great game pitching, going 6 2/3 innigs and giving up one earned run on two hits and two walks, with six strikeouts. Wyatt Hall was 2 for 5 with a run scored and an RBI, while Tanner Price was 1 for 4 with a run scored and three RBIs. Tanner Lunt also had three steals.

Against Sedro-Woolley, Wilder Jr. tallied 18 hits. Lunt was 3 for 4 with a run scored and a double. Seth Scofeld was 2 for 3 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI and Kamron Noard was 2 for 4 witha run scored and an RBI.

With the two wins, Wilder Jr. evened its season record to 5-5.
