QUILCENE — Quilcene toppled Rainier Christian in four sets to advance to the semifinals of the SeaTac League volleyball tournament.
The Rangers (15-2) claimed Wednesday’s home match in four sets 25-13, 21-25, 25-19, 25-10.
“We had strong serving, going 93 percent as a team,” Quilcene coach Joni Crowell said.
“Our serve-receive was also strong and there were some long rallies with Rainier Christian that gave us a lot of touches on the ball.”
Crowell mentioned that Allison Jones, Katie Bailey and Emily Hitt all had perfect nights from the service line.
Jones was 14 of 14 on serve with two aces, 38 assists, 12 digs and a block.
Senior Sammy Rae led the Rangers with 19 blocks and added eight digs and three aces.
Hitt, a freshman, served 15 of 15 with three aces, and also contributed 10 kills and 13 digs.
Bailey served 18 of 18 with 10 digs, seven kills, two assists and a block.
Junior Megan Weller had 10 digs, four kills and three aces for Quilcene.
There are four SeaTac League berths to Tri-District play, with the top three teams advancing directly to the Tri-District bracket, while the fourth seed must win a play-in game to move forward.
The Tri-District tournament will be held next week at Crescent High School.
