CLALLAM BAY — Quilcene earned a road win over Clallam Bay, beating the Bruins 25-21, 25-20, 25-4.
“We got off to a slow start, with a pretty low serve percentage in the first two games,” Quilcene coach Joni Crowell said.
“We also made some big changes to our lineup, trying to figure out our strongest positions on the court.”
In the third game, freshman Katie Bailey served 20 in a row, with seven aces.
For the match, Bailey was 33 for 36 on serves with 13 aces and one kill.
Another freshman, Bailey Kieffer, was a perfect 11-11 serving with an ace and three kills.
Senior setter Kiani Clissold served 8-10 8/10 with one ace, eight kills and 11 assists.
Sammy Rae contributed 11 kills and one block, Elysah Schryver had four kills and Allison Jones and one ace and one kill.
Quilcene (4-0) has this week off.
Port Townsend 3 Sequim 0
PORT TOWNSEND — The Redskins beat the Wolves for the first time in coach Nettie Hawkins’ five years at Port Townsend.
“Granted Sequim didn’t have there top guns playing [Thursday] night, [but] a win for us is a win regardless of who is on the court,” Hawkins said.
“My girls played to their potential and good things happened.”
The win was also big for the Port Townsend program that halted a three-year winless streak last season.
The Redskins (1-2) won 25-18, 25-17, 25-22.
For Port Townsend Megan Juran had four kills and six digs, Megan Lee had 18 digs, Rio Golden contributed seven kills and nine digs and Trisha Reeves had four kills, seven aces and two blocks.
Addi Richert had four kills, Amy Hemsley had 17 assist and three aces, Avery Selisch finished with four kills and five digs and Baili Shaw had 15 digs.
Port Townsend plays at Olympic on Tuesday.
Port Angeles 3, North Mason 0
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders won their first match of the season in three sets over the Bulldogs.
Port Angeles began it season with a loss to 3A Eastside Catholic and a hard-fought five-set loss to Klahowya.
The Riders (1-2) beat North Mason on Thursday 25-10, 25-15, 25-22.
“The girls played strong in the first set limiting their errors,” Port Angeles coach Christine Halberg said.
“It was a great team effort all night long. We served strong with few serving errors.”
Bailee Jones had nine kills, three digs and one block for Port Angeles.
Holli Williams had 11 assists, seven aces and served 13 for 13, scoring 10 points. She also had three digs
Kendra Harvey contibuted 17 digs, two aces and served 20-21, scoring 12 points.
Emily Johnson had nine assists, two aces and three digs, and Maddy Hinrichs finished with six kills, 10 digs and two aces.
Bellevue Christ. 3, Chimacum 0
CHIMACUM — The Cowboys lost a tough one to the defensively stout Vikings 25-20, 28-26, 24-26, 25-20.
In the loss, Chimacum was 95 percent serving, a record according to coach Sally Dankert.
“Senior setter Megan Dukek worked extra hard tonight putting up 28 assists. She also had two kills and 12 digs,” Dankert said.
“All of our hitters did a great job keeping their attacks in play or scoring kills. Lauren Thacker tallied up 12, with three blocks and nine digs.”
Audrey Thacker hit for nine kills, and had one block, two aces and 14 digs.
Outside hitters Olivia Baird and Kiersten Snyder each had five kills. Snyder had two blocks at the net and 14 digs. Baird ended the night with 16 digs and two aces.
Opposite Alyssa Hamilton contributed five assists, three kills, two aces and 13 digs.
“Sophomore Chelsey Johnson helped with defense in the back row,” Dankert said.
Chimacum (1-3) plays Vashon Island today.
Crescent 3, Taholah 1
TAHOLAH — The Loggers moved to 2-1 on the season by beating the Chitwhins 20-25, 25-16, 25-12, 25-16.
“We really dominated the second, third and fourth games, and the girls really showed how strong they are,” Crescent coach Alex Baker said.
“That was truly great to see.”
Baker singled out Devanie Christie, Shannon Williams and Larissa Garrison for their “exceptional play.”
The Loggers play at Klahowya on Tuesday.

FORKS — The Spartans dominated the Mountaineers 25-12, 25-17, 25-20 on Thursday night in an SWL-Evergreen Division matchup.
