UPDATED — STATE VOLLEYBALL: Quilcene opens with win; Neah Bay advances to second day

YAKIMA — Neah Bay won its second-round game with Three Rivers Christian in three sets 25-13, 25-19, 25-23.

The Red Devils will continue play in the Class 1B tournament Saturday at 9 a.m. against the winner between Naselle and Riverside Christian.

YAKIMA — Quilcene is still in contention for a Class 1B state volleyball championship after sweeping its opening-round match with Lake Quilnault 25-10, 25-17, 25-8 Friday at the Yakima Valley SunDome.

Next up for the Rangers is a match today at 8:15 p.m. against their nemesis this season, Christian Faith, which as defeated Quilcene in three sets twice this season.

Neah Bay fell into the tournament’s consolation bracket with a three-set loss in the first round to Sunnyside Christian 25-20,25-9,25-11.

The Red Devils play Three Rivers Christian this afternoon in a loser-out match.
