SEATTLE — Quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, who led the Seattle Seahawks to their only Super Bowl appearance, will not re-sign with the team, The Seattle Times, ESPN and a Seattle sports radio station reported this afternoon.

Hasselbeck’s return was nullified by the Seahawks reportedly reaching agreement to acquire another quarterback, Tarvaris Jackson, a former second-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings. A possible signing: Matt Leinart, late of the Arizona Cardinals and Houston Texans who played for Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll at the University of Southern California.

The Seahawks have Charlie Whitehurst, whom they acquired last season from the San Diego Chargers, still on their roster. Whitehurst was among the first at the Seahawks’ training camp first day today to pick up his playbook.
