TRACK: Forks boys, PA girls rule at Forks Lions Club meet

FORKS — Forks’ Cole Baysinger and Neah Bay’s Cameron Buzzell put on dominant performances at the Forks Lions Club Invitational track meet as the Spartan boys edged out the Red Devils to win the team title.

Meanwhile, the Port Angeles girls, dominant as usual in distance and field events, came in first, narrowly beating Clallam Bay.

Forks ended up with 102 team points to Neah Bay’s 64. The Roughrider girls had 125 points to Clallam Bay’s 103.

The Forks boys won six events, four of them by Baysinger, who came in first in the shot put, discus, high jump and triple jump. Buzzell also came in first in four events.

The Roughrider girls won eight events to the Bruins’ five. The Rider girls won the 800-meter run, the 3,200-meter run and picked up second-, third- and fourth-place finishes in the 1,600 meters. They also won the 4×100 and 4×400 relays.

Buzzell won the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash, anchored Neah Bay’s 4×100 team that came in first and was part of the Red Devil’s first-place 4×400 relay.
