PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles senior Faerin Tait ran to victories in the 200- and 400-meter races while 800 runner Leia Larson set a personal best in a two-team Olympic League meet with Olympic on Thursday.
Larson and Tait also teamed with Miriam Cobb and Storey Schmidt to take the 4×400 relay in 4:27.29.
Freshman Sariah Doherty set a new best mark in winning the shot put in 25 feet, 6 inches, and sophomore Brooke Pierce was tops in the high jump (4-8).
The Trojans totaled 73.5 points to the Rider girls’ 51.5.
Port Angeles sophomore Liam Wilson sprinted to personal bests in winning the 100- (11.51) and 200-meter sprints (23.18).
Wilson, Logan Wilson, Conner Enders and Hunter Eller all teamed to take the 4×100 relay in 44.07.
Junior Easton Dempsey set a new best time, winning the 1,600 in 4:46.45.
Keatyn Hoch cleared 5-6 to win the high jump.
Olympic won the team portion of the meet 91-54.
Port Angeles will compete in the Olympic League championships at North Mason on Thursday through May 10.
North Olympic League
PORT ANGELES — Crescent’s Naomii Sprague won both hurdles and the long and triple jumps during the North Olympic League’s second track and field meet of the season Thursday at Port Angeles.
The Loggers’ Alexis Dunavant edged elder sister Katelyn Dunavant to win the shot put and discus.
Angel Halttunen won both sprint events for the Neah Bay girls, setting a personal-best time of 26.89 in the 200 meters and running 13.41 in the 100 as the Red Devils (58.5) outpointed Crescent (39) and Clallam Bay (26.5).
In the boys meet, Clallam Bay sophomore Coletyn Hull won three events, sweeping the sprints in 12.56 (100) and 25.36 (200) and taking the long jump (17-8.5) to lift the Bruins to the win with 50 points. Crescent was next (44.5) and Neah Bay had 24.5.
Daniel Cumming won two field events for Neah Bay, claiming the discus with a throw of 120 feet and the shot put (41-5).
Forks at Raymond
RAYMOND — The Spartans’ boys and girls finished second and third, respectively, in a five-team Class 2B meet at Raymond on Thursday.
Sophomore Bubba Hernandez-Stansbury won the triple jump with a distance of 40 feet, 7.5 inches.
Noah Foster ran to a win in the 400 in 52.95 seconds.
Gage Willenbrink was second in three events, the long jump (18-7), javelin (121-7) and the high jump (5-6).
In the girls meet, seniors Aliya Gillett and Erika Williams set personal records in winning the 100 hurdles and 400 in 21.08 and 1:09.58, respectively.
Regan Dunn also won the javelin with a throw of 94-5.
Williams joined with Skye Hestand, Jade Blair and Elizabeth Morrison to take the 4×100 relay in 54.83.
Blair, Nikoke Gaydesk, Libby Owen and Caitlynn Cooney took the 4×400 in 5:38.26.
