TRACK AND FIELD: Sequim’s Mooney, Pyeatt have big days at Bremerton meet

BREMERTON — Sequim’s Tyler Mooney and Riley Pyeatt had huge days at a three-way track and field meet at Bremerton.

Mooney won the 100-meter dash (11.33 seconds), the 200 meters (23.07) and the 400 (52.55). He also helped the Sequim 4×400 team (Henry Hughes, Mooney, Mirek Skov, Calem Klinger) win in a time of 3:49.71.

Pyeatt, meanwhile, also won the 100 (13.24), the 200 (27.18) and the 800 (2:21.41). She also anchored the Sequim girls’ 4×400 team that won with a time of 4:25.39. Other runners on that team included Hi’lei Robinson, Anastasia Updike and Eve Mavy.

Port Angeles’ Kennedy Bruch meanwhile, had a solid day, winning the girls 400 meters (1:04.71) and the shot put (30 feet, 3 inches).

Sequim’s Rileigh VanDyken won the 100 hurdles (19.49), the pole vault (7-0) and the 300 hurdles (57.07). Port Angeles’ Maya Gentry won the high jump with a height of 4 feet, 6 inches and the triple jump with a distance of 28-9.

There were no team points included in results.

Other area boys’ winners included:

3,200 meters — Samuel Hayes, Port Angeles, 10:33.23.

110 hurdles — Adrian Brown, Sequim, 16.64.

Discus — Marek Skov, Sequim, 95-6.

Javelin — Hughes, Sequim, 109-7.

Triple Jump — Ari Skov, Sequim, 32-4.

Other area girls’ winners included:

1,600 — Mavy, Sequim, 5:46.47.

3,200 — Nicoline Updike, Sequim, 15:50.99.

4×200 relay — Sequim (Robinson, Katie Morris, Anastasia Updike, Mavy), 1:56.39.

Javelin — Jayde Gedelman, PA, 87-6.

NOL meet

COUPEVILLE — Neah Bay’s Ryana Moss won the 1,600-meter run in a North Olympic League meet last week.

Moss won with a time of 5:58.34.

Two Crescent athletes finished second in their events — Naomii Sprague in the 400 (1:07.95) and Katelyn Dunavent in the discus (82-5).

Titus White of Crescent was third in the javelin (105-9) and the Loggers; Conner Ferro-May was fourth in the discus (92-4) and fourth in the shot put (32-1½).
