PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles girls won 14 events, including all three relays, and set 20 personal records to dominate Thursday’s home meet against North Mason and Klahowya.
The Roughriders totaled 107 points, 67 better than second-place Klahowya.
Three Port Angeles athletes won multiple events and all three set personal records in at least one of those wins.
Sophomore Emma Albright sprinted to victory in the 200 meters in 27.61 seconds and set a personal-best mark of 15-08 in the long jump.
Senior Lainnnie Lyamba breezed to a personal-record best time of 13.16 in the 100 meters and won the triple jump with a distance of 31-10.
Gracie Long set a career-best time of 49.9 in the 300 hurdles and won the high jump (4-08).
Senior Maddie Dougherty set her own personal best (5:24.53) to win the 1,600.
Other event winners included Millie Long in the 100 hurdles (16.78); McKenzie Musalek in the pole vault (7-06) and Lauren Larson in the 3,200 (12:09.12).
Lillian Hickey, Anelise Hanson, Annalee McPherson and Jessica Roberts teamed to win the 4×100 relay.
Albright, Millie Long, Musalek and Delaney Wenzl claimed the 4×200 relay in 1:52.04. This relay team is second in the Olympic League 2A according to Port Angeles coach Bob Sheedy.
Mille Long, Gracie Long, Dougherty and Kynzie Deleon won the 4×400 (4:28.51) and have the fastest time in the Olympic League 2A, according to Sheedy.
The Roughrider boys had two double-event winners but Port Angeles was edged out of the meet victory 66-65 by North Mason.
Liam Clark won two events, including a personal record of 5-10 in the high jump,
Clark also won the triple jump with a distance of 39-05.
Clark leads the Olympic League in the high jump, is second in the triple and third in the 400 meters.
Tyler Messinger threw the javelin a personal-best 129-08 and also set a new mark in the pole vault, clearing 11 feet.
Dante Light also won the discus (112-04) and 19 Riders set personal bests in the meet.
North Olympic League meet
PORT ANGELES — Triple event winners Derek Gonzales and Isaac Jay Brunk paced the Neah Bay boys to a win over Clallam Bay and Crescent in a meet held at Port Angeles High School on Thursday.
Neah Bay totaled 79 points, Crescent 35 and Clallam Bay 24.
Gonzales set a personal record of 118 feet to win the javelin and had a season-long distance of 34-02.5 to win the shot put. He also threw 88-05 to take the discus.
Brunk won the triple jump with a personal record leap of 35-02. He also ran to victory in the 1,600 meters (5:20.35) and 3,200 (12:38.24).
Malachi Treadway won both hurdles events to lead the Crescent boys.
Treadway, an eighth-grader, set personal records of 19.08 in the 110 and 49.78 in the 300.
Clallam Bay’s Ryan Strid won three events for the Bruins.
The sophomore won the 100 and 200 meter races with personal record times of 11.97 and 24.96, respectively. Strid also jumped 16-09.5 in the long jump.
In the girls meet, Miriam Wonderly and Hannah Olson won two events apiece to lead the Bruin girls to the meet victory.
Clallam Bay totaled 73 points, Neah Bay 41 and Crescent 8.
Wonderly set a new best time of 13.84 in the 100 and ran her fastest 200 of the season (28.4).
Olson won the javelin with a throw 0f 87-10 and the long jump (13-04.5).
The Bruins relay teams also swept all three races.
Kaylin Signor, Kendra Anderson, Olson and Wonderly won the 4×100 (56.23) and the 4×200 (1:59.12).
Venessa Jimmicum, Miranda Tyree, Sidney Smith and Shyann Littleton won the 4×400 (5:27.89).
Neah Bay had two event winners. Kayla Winck won the shot put with a distance of 31 feet and Shilaily Woodruff the triple jump with a new best jump of 28-09.5.
Raine Westfall was the only Crescent girls athlete to compete. She won discus with a mark of 90-05.
All three teams will compete in Port Angeles’ meet on Thursday.
