PORT ANGELES — The Sequim boys and Port Angeles girls won a four-team track meet in Port Angeles, with athletes setting all kinds of personal records in sunny and warm weather.
Teams from Sequim Port Angeles, Coupeville and Port Townsend participated in Thursday’s meet, with athletes from Clallam Bay and Neah Bay also competing (their results didn’t count in team points.)
The Sequim boys won with 68.5 points with Port Angeles second at 53. The Port Angeles girls won with 90 points, well ahead of second-place Coupeville at 47.
The biggest winner was Port Angeles’ Gracie Long, who came in first in three events for the Roughrider girls. She won the 400-meter run in a personal-record time of 1:02.74, the 800 meters in 2:27.33 and the high jump in a personal-record 5 feet, 1 inch.
For the girls, Port Angeles’ Lainnie Lyamba won the 100-meter run in 13.21 and the triple jump in 32 feet, 2 1/2 inches.
Her teammate Emma Albright won the 200-meter run in 27.26 (beating Port Angeles’ Millie Long by 0.01 of a second) and the long jump in 14-11 1/2.
Port Townsend’s Eileen Leoso won the shot put with a distance of 31-5 and the javelin with a throw of 106-9. She also helped the Port Townsend 4×100 team relay team win.
There were also several multiple winner in the boys meet. Sequim’s Murray Bingham won the 400 meters (52.44 seconds, a personal record) and the 1,600 meters (4:53.05) and helped the Sequim 4×400 relay team win. His teammate Fischer Jensen won the 110-meter hurdles in 16.69 and the 300-meter hurdles in 42.60.
Port Angeles’ Liam Clark won two events, the long jump in 19-3 and the triple jump in 39-11 3/4.

Baysinger, Camacho pace Forks
FORKS — Forks’ Wesley Camacho and Cole Baysinger won three events each at the Evergreen 1A track and field meet in Forks.
In fact, Baysinger came within three inches of winning a fourth event Thursday.
Camacho also set three personal records while running a total of 18,450 feet. He won the 800-meter run (2:15.31), the 1,600 meters (5:06.25) and the 3,200 meters (10:59.16.).
Baysinger won the discus (140-6), the high jump (5-10) and the long jump with a personal-record distance of 20-1.
Baysinger came in second in the triple jump at 40-1 3/4, less than three inches short of the top triple jump by Sam Winter of Montesano.
Crescent’s Raine Westfall also won two events. She won the shot put with a distance of 30-1 and the discus with a throw of 95-6. Forks Marissa Bailey won two events, the 800 meters (2:36.09) and the 1,600 meters (5:43.93).
Other winners include Forks’ Karen Ensastegui-Salazar in the 3,200 meters with a time of 12:56.28 and Forks’ Chelsea Biciunas in the triple jump with a distance of 28-10.
