SWIMMING: Port Angeles Swim Club members have a killer Christmas

PORT ANGELES — This was the fifth year of the Killer Kristmas — a Christmas-time tradition of the Port Angeles Swim Club that was started by head coach Jessica Johnson in 2012.

Swimmers willing to test themselves took on the task of swimming 40,000 yards, or 22.7 miles, which is equivalent to the distance across the Strait of Juan de Fuca from Port Angeles to Victoria

Swimmers who completed the challenge and their ages are, back row, from left, Sydney Swanson, 14; Tristin Butler, 17; Emma Murray, 14; Sierra Hunter, 16; Felicia Che, 14; Mia Coffman, 13; and front row, Nadia Cole, 14; Cameron Butler, 15; Kenzie Johnson, 15’, Josh Gavin, 12; Adam Weller, 12; and Sonja Goversten, 14.
