SEATTLE — Quilcene, Neah Bay and Crescent will all be playing schools from eastern Washington in the first round of the Class 1B state football playoffs.
Times, dates and venues have not been set as off press deadline, but the games will be played either Friday or Saturday. Because Monday is a holiday, it may be Tueday before venues and times are selected.
All three Olympic Peninsula 1B football teams that used to be part of the old North Olympic League made the eight-team state tournament.
Quilcene (10-0) was seeded No. 5 and will be playing No. 4 seed Sunnyside Christian (10-1). Crescent (11-2) was seeded No. 7 and will be playing No. 2 seed Almira-Coulee-Hartline (10-1), while Neah Bay (5-5) was seeded No. 8 and will play No. 1 seed Odessa (11-0). Neah Bay beat Odessa in the 2016 1B championship game.
These are all teams used to the state tournament. Almira-Coulee-Hartline beat Sunnyside Christian 84-60 in the 1B championship last year and ACH won the state championship in 2015, beating Lummi.
The other schools in the state playoffs are No. 3 seed Naselle (8-1) vs. No. 6 seed Lyle/Wishram (8-2). Crescent has played Lyle/Wishram and was beaten, while Neah Bay has twice played Naselle and lost both games.
