PORT TOWNSEND — Jeremiah Fountain and the rest of the Port Townsend High School football team didn’t forget last year’s shutout loss to North Mason.
Too bad for the Bulldogs.
Port Townsend paid them back with a nearly unbelievable 75-9 victory Friday night in a Nisqually League opener at Jefferson County Memorial Stadium.
The 2A Redskins (2-0) led 61-2 at halftime over the 3A Bulldogs (0-2).
“All week long we’ve been talking about them shutting us out 29 to nothing (last year) and wanting our revenge,” Fountain said after Friday’s game, in which he rushed for a team-high 140 yards on just six carries.
“Tonight we got it.”
