SEQUIM — The Sequim Wolves ended their girls soccer season with a 2-1 loss to Klahowya in Nisqually League play on Tuesday.
“I”m not happy,” said Sequim head coach Linsay Rapelje. “This is not how I wanted to end the season.”
Amanda Clark put Klahowya on the board first with a goal in the ninth minute of play.
Sequim (5-6 in league, 7-8-1 overall) would answer back in the second half with a goal from Kate Apple off an assist from Brittany Gates in the 55th minute.
With only five minutes left in the game, Klahowya closed the door on the Wolves, on a goal by Jessica Squires.
Volleyball Crescent 3, Quilcene 1
QUILCENE — Eight matches down and one to go as the Loggers beat the Rangers on Tuesday, looking to make it two unbeaten seasons in a row in North Olympic League play.
Crescent won 25-20, 16-25, 25-19, 25-19.
Emma Hefton had a great night at the net for the Loggers, going 15-for-17 serving with three aces, three blocks and eight kills.
Kelcie Keyes, who has played consistently strong for the Loggers, went 11-for-12 serving with an ace, three blocks and two kills.
“We did what we needed to do to win,” said Loggers head coach Alex Baker.
Crescent (8-0 in league, 11-0 overall) takes on Clallam Bay at home on Thursday.
Clallam Bay 3, Neah Bay 1
CLALLAM BAY — The Bruins came out on top in their North Olympic League win over the Red Devils on Tuesday.
Clallam Bay won 27-25, 22-25, 25-13, 25-18.
“We played really strong tonight,” said Bruin head coach Karen Clum.
April Thompson led the Bruins in kills with six, Katelyn Wright had five, Whitney Taber four and Alice Yancy followed with two.
Greta Erickson had 17 assists in the game for Clallam Bay.
“This is the first time we will not go to the postseason in a long time,” said Red Devil coach Rebekah Monette.
Nicole Parker was 27-for-27 at the service line for Neah Bay.
Sheena Malinowski had eight kills for the Red Devils, followed by Michelle Thompson with two.
Clallam Bay, which is now 5-3 in league and 7-5 overall, will travel to Crescent on Thursday to face the unbeaten Loggers.
Hoquiam 3, Forks 1
HOQUIAM — Hoquiam tied Forks for second place in the Nisqually League standings after beating the Spartans in four games on Tuesday.
Hoquiam won 25-15, 12-25, 25-20, 25-20.
“They weren’t better than us,” said Spartan head coach Patty Brandt. “Mentally, we just were not in the game.”
Tessa Leppell led Forks (6-3 in league, 10-4 overall) with nine kills, followed by Kelly Santman with eight and Avery Ironhill with five.
Annie Crippen led Forks in assists with 20.
