SPORTS: Wilder Baseball opens 2010 season with three wins in four games

OAK HARBOR — Wilder Baseball opened its season by taking three of four games in back-to-back doubleheaders last weekend.

The North Olympic Peninsula All-Star squad swept Stanwood American Legion on Saturday, winning 9-5 and 17-1, then split a pair of games with host Oak Harbor on Sunday, winning the first game 11-5 and dropping the second 12-8.

Ryan Aumock, Spencer Middleton and A.J. Konopaski all earned wins on the mound, while the Wilder bats had 46 hits in the four games.

Port Angeles’ Easton Napiontek had a trio of multi-hit games, and A.J. Konopaski and Cody Sullivan each had two.

Wilder (3-1) will host a three-team round robin this weekend at Civic Field in Port Angeles.

That begins with a game against Toyota Baseball (Bellevue/Redmond) at 4 p.m. and one against the Marysville Hawks at 7 p.m. on Saturday.

Wilder will then host Toyota at 1 p.m. and Marysville at 4 p.m. on Sunday.
