SPORTS: Wilder baseball drops Olympic 17-11 in slugfest

PORT ANGELES — The Wilder Baseball junior team won a slugfest over the Olympic Tigers 17-11 at Civic Field.

Wilder’s Nigel Christian smacked a three-run home run and doubled twice to finish 4 for 5 at the plate with seven RBIs.

Daniel Harker was 3 for 5 and drove in two runs for Wilder, Alex Morris was 2 for 5 with a double and an RBI and Bailey Early contributed a hit and an RBI.

On the mound, Adam Iseri-Fuji struck out two in 3 1/3 innings while allowing four earned runs and Christian fanned four in 2 2/3 innings pitched with two earned runs.

The Wilder junior team hits the road for the Ed McNamara Invitational, a three-day tournament that begins today in Moses Lake.

The Wilder senior team will play this weekend at the four-team Global Sports Authority state tournament at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton.

Wilder plays Saturday at 10:45 a.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and then Sunday at 10:45 a.m. or approximately 1 p.m., depending how it fares in Saturday’s games.
