Port Angeles
at Sequim
■ Time: Tonight at 7.
■ Last meeting: Sequim 41-0 win at Port Angeles, Oct. 29, 2010.
■ Records: Sequim 5-1 in league, 7-1 overall; Port Angeles 4-2, 6-2.
■ At stake: Playoff seeding, a possible outright league championship and, of course, bragging rights.
The Wolves are gunning for the Olympic League crown, the league’s top seed to the Class 2A preliminary state playoffs and the home playoff game that comes with it.
Meanwhile, the Roughriders are looking to end a two-game losing streak and force a four-way tie atop the Olympic League standings.
Both have already clinched a playoff berth.
Port Townsend
at Chimacum
■ Time: Tonight at 7.
■ Last meeting: Chimacum 38-6 win in Port Townsend, Oct. 29, 2010.
■ Records: Chimacum 1-5, 1-7; Port Townsend 0-6, 0-8.
■ At stake: With both teams eliminated from postseason contention by the end of last week, this one’s simply for bragging rights.
Both teams have a chance to make its season, with the Redskins particularly motivated to avoid their second straight winless season and end an 18-game losing streak.
Chimacum has been the more competitive of the two coming down the stretch, even managing to knock off Vashon Island three weeks ago.
The Cowboys are going for their second straight win over Port Townsend and third in their last seven seasons.
Forks at Elma
■ Time: Tonight at 7.
■ Last meeting: Elma 49-0 win in Forks, Oct. 29, 2010.
■ Records: Elma 3-3, 4-4; Forks 2-3, 2-5
■ At stake: The Spartans are playing for their playoff lives tonight, with a win resulting in a Kansas City tie-breaker at the least.
Forks couldn’t be meeting Elma at a much better time either, with the Eagles missing eight starters because of suspensions.
The Spartans are reeling a bit as well, with injuries and eligibility issues factoring into their current three-game losing streak.
Neah Bay at Lummi
■ Time: Tonight at 7.
■ Last meeting: Lummi 38-36 in Neah Bay, Sept. 2, 2011.
■ Records: Lummi 6-0, 8-0; Neah Bay 6-0, 6-1
■ At stake: In the past two years, Lummi has supplanted Clallam Bay as Neah Bay’s chief football rival.
Lummi and Neah Bay have played each other eight times since 2009 with the Blackhawks winning the last six, including back-to-back victories in the Class 1B state semifinals.
Once again, much is on line when the two meet tonight.
Whoever wins will be on the fast track toward the Northwest Football League’s top playoff seed with one week to go in the regular season.
The loser likely will end up with the third seed and a spot in a loser-out pigtail playoff with Lopez.
Clallam Bay
at Quilcene
■ Time: Saturday at 1 p.m.
■ Last meeting: Quilcene 68-20 win in Clallam Bay, Oct. 29, 2010.
■ Records: Quilcene 2-4, 3-4; Clallam Bay 4-2, 4-3.
■ At stake: The Rangers’ playoff hopes are on the line while the Bruins are looking to move within one win of breaking a four-year postseason drought.
While Clallam Bay is coming off three straight wins — one of which was a Muckleshoot forfeit — Quilcene is trying to recover from back-to-back losses to Northwest Football League powers Neah Bay and Lummi.
If the Rangers lose, their bid for a second straight playoff appearance is over.
Crescent
at Tulalip Heritage
■ Time: Saturday at 1 p.m.
■ Last meeting: First ever.
■ Records: Tulalip 2-5 in league and overall; Crescent 3-3, 4-3.
■ At stake: The Loggers come off a bye week possibly needing a win to stay in the Northwest Football League playoff race.
They take on a Tulalip team that has lost four in a row since beating league doormats Highland Christian and Rainier Christian early on in the season.
