TUKWILA — The Sequim High School baseball team came back from a Friday loss to Chimacum and cruised past Foster 16-4 in Nisqually League action on Saturday.
Tim Newharth earned the win for Sequim (4-7 in league, 5-8 overall) on the mound with Chad Wagner coming in to close the game out in the seventh.
Anglo Fazio was 3-for-4 with four runs driven in to lead the Wolves at the plate.
Tommy Iverson and Shune Johnson both went 3-for-4. Johnson had three RBIs and John Coon drove in four runs for Sequim.
On Friday, Chimacum (9-2 in league, 9-3 overall) beat Sequim 11-5 in a Nisqually League contest.
Marcus Moug won his fifth start of the year for the Cowboys.
Sam Evasick and Zac Garten both were 2-for-4 at the plate for Chimacum in the game and Chris Chivers went 3-for-4 with a pair of runs driven in.
John Printz was 2-for-4 in the game for Sequim.
Port Angeles 8, Central Kitsap 0
SILVERDALE — The Roughriders shut out the Cougars behind Lane Thoma’s complete game.
Thomas threw only 73 pitches in seven innings, 50 of those for strikes.
At the plate for Port Angeles (10-1 in league, 13-1 overall) Nick Borchers reached base all five times he came to the plate, hitting three doubles, walking once and being hit by a pitch.
Borchers finished with three runs scored and a pair of runs driven in. Matt Lane was 3-for-4 with three RBIs in the game and Nate Gossard and Chance Botero both went 2-for-3, Botero also drove in a run.
On Friday Port Angeles beat Bremerton 8-2.
Pitcher Sam Gay got the win.
Borchers went 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs, Botero was 3-for-4 with two runs scored, Gossard went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Dane Brown was 1-for-2 with two RBIs.
Friday Klahowya 4, Port Townsend 2
PORT TOWNSEND — The Redskins fell to the Eagles in a Friday Nisqually League game despite scoring two runs in the first.
Troy Cate took the loss, as Port Townsend (3-8 in league, 3-9 overall) gave up two unearned runs in the fifth inning.
Jason Robbins went 2-for-3 for the Redskins and drove in both of their runs while Chad Holbrook was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Rochester 3, Forks 2, 8 innings
ROCHESTER — The Spartans committed five errors as Rochester scored three unearned runs to win the Southwest Washington League game.
Forks had committed just a total of four errors in the eight games prior to Friday’s contest.
The Spartans fell to 5-2 in league and 5-4 overall.
Wayne Daman, one of the top rated pitchers in Washington, gave up only three hits while striking out 12 in seven innings. Freshman Josh Cabe (0-1) came in the eighth inning and took the loss despite not giving up any earned runs.
Daman (3-0) has had a tough time winning games despite his domination on the mound. He fanned a school-record 21 batters in a nine-inning game earlier this season.
Brian Dawkins went 2-for-3 at the plate for the Spartans with an RBI while Bryce DePew was 2-of-4.
The second game of the scheduled doubleheader was postponed after six innings with the score tied 2-2. The game will be made up Wednesday at Rochester.
