BREMERTON — Sequim’s volleyball team beat Bremerton 3-0 to open Olympic League play Tuesday night.
The Wolves (1-0, 5-1) won 25-11, 25-23, 25-23.
The match wasn’t as close as the score might indicate.
“Everyone got to play,” coach Jennie Webber-Heilman said.
“We were trying different things.”
The Knights, however, were ahead 20-10 in the third game when the Wolves got serious and closed the game and the match out.
Haleigh Harrison had eight kills, six digs and a block while Taylor Balkan was 12 for 12 in serves with three aces, and she had 17 assists, 10 digs and a block.
Rylleigh Zbaraschuk had seven digs and three kills.
The Wolves next host North Mason on Thursday.
Forks 3, Rainier 2
FORKS — The Spartans won a SWL-Evergreen Division barn-burner for their third win of the year Tuesday night.
Forks, 3-2 in league, won 25-12, 17-25, 25-20, 18-25, 15-12.
Jillian Raben led Forks with 28 assists while Casey Williams was strong at the net with 17 kills.
Sydney Christiansen added 16 kills.
The Spartans next play at Hoquiam on Thursday night.

PORT ANGELES — The high-flying Roughriders had an easy time against the youthful Redskins on Tuesday, winning 25-7, 25-17, 25-13.
“It was a great team effort tonight,” Port Angeles coach Christine Halberg said.
“Everyone played and everybody supported each other positively.”
The Riders are now 1-0 in the Olympic League and 5-0 overall.
Emily Drake had 14 assists, five aces and six digs while Bailee Jones and Autumn Ruddick had five kills each. Jones also had two blocks.
The Riders next host Peninsula of Gig Harbor in a nonleague match Thursday night.
Charles Wright 3, Chimacum 1
TACOMA — The Cowboys, who are having a hard-luck season with several close heartbreaking losses, fell to 0-5 in the Nisqually League after another tough loss Monday on the road.
Chimacum won the first game 25-23, then dropped the next two 25-12, 25-13 before regrouping and battling to the end in the fourth game, finally falling 29-27.
Alyssa Gale led at the net with seven kills while Krista Hathaway and Aubrey Gale had four kills each.
Aubrey Gale also had four serving aces while Megan Dukek dished out nine assists.
Olivia Baird and Kiersten Snyder had perfect serving in the match.
The Cowboys next host Cascade Christian on Wednesday in league action.
Crescent JV 3, Quilcene varsity 0
JOYCE — The JV Loggers beat the varsity Rangers 25-13, 25-14, 25-10.
“Overall, each player contributed to the team win, playing as a unit through great skills and attitudes,” Crescent assistant coach Chon Clayton said.
Clayton said the players to be recognized include Jessica Criss, Tori Mcgowan, Teya Williams, Jenny Criss, Hannah Mitts, Lauren Hartley and Jade Blazek.

PORT ANGELES — Tracie Macias was a double winner and the 2A Roughriders produced four district-qualifying times against the powerhouse 3A Spartans in nonleague action Tuesday.
Port Angeles is 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the Olympic League.
Tracie Macias was first in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:21.40 and in the 100 butterfly in 1:03.98.
Securing West Central District times were Kelsey Macias in the 50 free (27.08) and the 500 free (5:59.29), Kelly Winn in the 50 free (28,25) and Ashlee Reid in the 100 free (1:00.02).
Other winners were Tarah Erickson in the 50 free and the 200 medley relay team.
The Riders next swim at Olympic of Silverdale in Olympic League action.

Neah Bay forfeit over Muckleshoot
NEAH BAY— Muckleshoot Tribal, struggling with low numbers all year, cancelled its game with the Red Devils on Tuesday night.
The forfeit makes Neah Bay 3-0 in the Northwest Football League and 3-1 overall.
The game originally was scheduled for last Friday night but Muckleshoot postponed that game in the hope of having enough bodies ready for Tuesday.
Neah Bay travels to Rainier Christian on Saturday and then has a bye the next week.
“We’re trying to get a game with Forks JV or somebody our bye week to make up for not playing this week,” coach Tony McCaulley said.
