FORKS — The Forks High School girls soccer team stayed ahead of Rochester most of the game but lost 3-1 in Southwest Washington League action Thursday.
The Spartans (0-11, 1-12) led 1-0 at halftime and kept the lead halfway through the second half before Rochester scored the tying run.
Kylea Jo Allen scored the go-ahead goal for the Spartans with 15 minutes left in the first half.
She drilled the ball through three defenders 40 yards out and dribbled down to the net, putting the ball into the corner.
Forks goalkeeper Mariah Dillard had 15 saves.
The Spartans next host Napavine in their final home game of the season Tuesday.
Volleyball Neah Bay 3, Clallam Bay 1
CLALLAM BAY — The Red Devils won a hard-fought four-game set against their archrivals Thursday night to remain in first place in the North Olympic League.
Neah Bay won by the scores of 27-25, 15-25, 25-21, 25-17 to improve to 4-1 in league and 10-1 overall.
The Red Devils conclude the regular season in a crucial match against second-place Crescent at home Tuesday night.
The Loggers have one more match remaining after that next Thursday against Clallam Bay.
Neah Bay came back after the second-game loss to the Bruins to win the next two.
“We lost our focus in Game 2,” Neah Bay coach Chon Clayton said. “We came back, fought hard and didn’t quit.”
Crescent 3, Port Angeles JV 2
JOYCE — The Loggers won a close nonleague match against the Class 3A Roughriders on Thursday night.
Crescent, 8-3 overall, won 16-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-20, 16-14.
“We played a good match and now we buckle down and get ready for the Crescent Invite on Saturday with six teams,” Crescent coach Alex Baker said.
The Loggers then take on North Olympic League leading Neah Bay on Tuesday. The Red Devils have one loss in league while the Loggers have two.
Against Port Angeles, freshman Catherine Youngman served 24-of-25 with one ace and she had two kills.
Rachel Poats served 7-of-11 with four blocks, three tips and 11 kills.
Rashaya Donnell served 19-fo-19, and she had three aces with three kills.
Rochester 3, Forks 1
FORKS — Rochester’s third-place squad knocked off Forks in a tightly-contested match 25-23, 25-21, 22-25, 25-20 on Thursday.
Taylor Ingram had 16 assists, Brittany Decker added nine kills and Paige Kennedy had four kills and one stuff for the Spartans (5-6, 5-7).
Undefeated Onalaska (11-0, 11-0) visits Forks on Tuesday.
Girls Swimming Port Angeles 128, Port Townsend 53
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders remained undefeated with the dominating Olympic League win over the Redskins on Thursday at William Shore Memorial Pool.
Port Angeles was first in 11 of 12 events with the Riders outscoring the Redskins in 10 of 12 events and sweeping four events.
The Riders (9-0 overall, 8-0 in league) had three doubles winners and two divers with new district qualifying performances.
Double winners were Emily Little in the 200-yard freestyle and the 500 free, Tracie Macias in the 50 free and 100 butterfly and Kelsey Macias in the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke.
In the diving competition, Allison Hodgin and Tesela Keel both earned berths at the West Central District Class 3A championships.
Hodgin was first in diving with 263.70 points for 11 dives while Keel was runner-up with 243.90 points for 11 dives.
Ten Port Angeles seniors competed in their final home dual meet. They were Cassie Alderson, Amanda Avera, Mckenna Bell-Duffy, Amanda Gordon, Keel, Bridgette LeBer, Little, Jocelyn Pankowski, Shyanna Reyes and Delaney Ronish.
Next meet is the Divisional Invitational and serves as a last chance for swimmers to qualify for the district meet.
Port Angeles hosts the meet the coming Thursday with diving starting at 1 p.m. and swimming competition beginning at 3:30 p.m.
