SILVERDALE — The Port Townsend High School football team was knocked out of the 2A state playoffs following a 27-13 loss to Lynden Christian on Saturday.
“The weather turned pretty tough, we turned the ball over twice on kickoffs right at the start of the game that cost us two touchdowns,” said Port Townsend coach James Fleisher.
Jeremiah Fountain and Nick Gallaway both scored touchdowns for the Redskins, who came back to lead 13-12 at the half.
Fountain scored on an 86-yard run in the first quarter after Lynden Christian took an early 12-0 lead.
Lynden Christian scored its first two touchdowns on onside kicks.
