PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles opened its girls swimming and diving season with a 130-53 win over Klahowya at William Shore Memorial Pool.
The Roughriders finished the meet with three state qualifying times and twelve district qualifying swims.
The 200-meter medley relay team of Ashlee Reid, Carter Juskevich, Janie Macias and Audra Perrizo posted a state-qualifying time of 1:59.92
Reid also swam a state-qualifying time in the 100-meter freestyle. She placed first with a time of 57.66 seconds.
Juskevich achieved an individual state-qualifying time in the 100-meter breaststroke, placing first with a time of 1:13.39.
Macias added an individual state-qualifying time in the 20-meter freestyle.
Reid was a double-even winner, winning the 100 free and the 100-meter backstroke.
The Riders host Sequim on Tuesday afternoon.

BREMERTON — The Roughriders earned a road victory over the Trojans by sweeping the doubles and winning three singles matches.
In the singles matches, Tye Loan defeated Alex Brown 6-0, 6-1; Darren Towne beat Nick Fritschler 6-3, 6-2; and Ben Basden defeated Jacob Nemeth 6-4, 6-2.
Doubles tandems Daniel Manwell and Hayden Kays Erdmann, Micah Needham and Jace Bohman, Connor Heilman and Tanner Gochnour and Matt Hendry and Elliott Soelter all earned wins for Port Angeles.
The Riders host Klahowya on Tuesday.

CHIMACUM — The young Cowboys showed a lot of promise in their season opening loss to the Eagles.
The only score in the game came at the beginning of the second half of Tuesday’s game.
“Goalkeeper Kyah McKinley did an amazing job in stopping shots on goal,” Chimacum coach Debbie Berreth said.
“Defenders Kristen Castillo, Samantha Cerna, Ashley Kelly and Olivia Edje did an amazing job.”

BELLEVUE — Despite only having three substitutes and playing in hot temperatures, the Cowboys showed well against the Vikings.
“Midfielders Melanie Pieper and sister Nicola Pieper provided consistent distribution and support to both offense and defense,” Chimacum coach Debbie Berreth said.
“Mukda Chabarium had an amazing pass to forward Samantha Raines in the second half of the game, which created an opportunity for scoring.”
The Cowboys host Seattle Christian on Tuesday.
