Sports: Port Angeles swimmers show well at season opener

POULSBO — The Port Angeles High School boys swimming team tacked up 13 district qualifying times in its season-opening meet Thursday, defeating North Kitsap 121-55.

The Roughriders dominated the Vikings in the relays, taking all three multi-leg events.

Jackson Armstrong, Adam Cal-Cole, Brad Hoine and Jeffrey Eshom took first in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1 minute, 53.56 seconds.

Stephen Tutton and Justin Witherow joined Armstrong and Hoine in the 400 freestyle relay, winning in 3:53.20.

Port Angeles finished off the relays with a 1:43.34 first-place finish in the 200 free, won by Witherow, Eshom, Tutton and Cal-Cole.
