POULSBO — The Port Angeles boys swimming team finished the regular season with a perfect record after sinking Kingston on Thursday.
The Olympic League dual meet was held at North Kitsap High School.
The 122-63 victory gave the Roughriders a 12-0 record and the league dual-meet championship for the second straight year.
“It’s nice to [win the title], especially with a pool [William Shore Memorial] that was looking at being closed,” Port Angeles coach Rich Butler said.
Diver Nick Peterson set a school record against the Buccaneers with a six-dive point total of 238.
The Riders also had two double winners with Tyler Burke taking the 100-yard freestyle (1:00.28) and the 200 free (2:01.17), and Ben Flowers earning wins in the 50 free (25.03) and the 100 butterfly (56.78).
Charlie Parks qualified for districts in the 200 free with third place in a time of 2:03.95.
The Riders also had several swimmers contributing first-ever swims including Connor Reid and Joel Elder in the 200 individual medley, Michael woods in the 500 free and Robo Sloboda and Anatoli Tuhari in the 100 breaststroke.
Next up is the divisional invitational, which is the last chance for swimmers to earn district or state times, on Thursday at William Shore Memorial Pool.
The meet starts at 3:30 p.m.
Sequim splits double-dual meet
SEQUIM — The Wolves won one and lost one in their final Olympic League double-dual meet at Sequim Aquatic Recreation Center (SARC) on Thursday.
Sequim beat Klahowya 123-56 but lost to Olympic 94-89.
Two Sequim swimmers qualified for districts, including Kris Petersen in the 200-yard freestyle (2:24.78) and Tanner Estep in the 200 individual medley in 2:39.64.
Austin Clement was first in diving against both schools with his best score of the season (127.10).
Other double winners for the Wolves against the two schools were Noe Calderon in the 200 IM in 2:22.75 and Thomas Moores in the 500 free in 6:11.92.
Sequim will be in Port Angeles on Thursday for the divisional meet.
