PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Angeles boys cross country team continued its torrid start to the season with a three-way meet victory.
Led by Kyle Tupper’s first-place finish, the Roughrider boys took five of the top seven spots to defeat Port Townsend and Kingston in Olympic League action at Fort Worden State Park.
Tupper beat out teammate Brendan Dennis by two seconds in the three-mile run, crossing the finish line in 16 minutes, 10 seconds.
Four days removed from finishing second at the Salt Creek Invitational, the Kingston girls ran away from their Port Angeles and Port Townsend counterparts to win their three-way event.
Two-time Salt Creek champion Marina Roberts tied her sister Ruby’s course record with a first-place mark of 17:22.
Port Townsend’s Brittany Grant was second in 18:42.
That wasn’t enough, however, for the Redskin girls to hold off Port Angeles.
The Rider girls took second, led by Elizabeth Stevenson’s fifth-place mark, while the Redskin girls were third.

SILVERDALE — Adrian Clifford and Jasmine McMullen each won their individual races to lead the Wolves to second-place finishes in Wednesday’s Olympic League three-way meets against Klahowya and Bremerton.
Clifford took down the 3.1-mile course in 17:54 to beat out Klahowya’s Michael Ward in the boys race, while McMullen finished the girls race in 23:14 to beat the next-closest runner by 37 seconds.
Klahowya won the boys three-way competition, which also included Bremerton, while the Knights took the girls meet.
