SPORTS: Port Angeles and Sequim boys basketball teams end their seasons with district consolation losses Monday

TACOMA — Port Angeles and Sequim won’t have a showdown after all for the No. 4 seed from the West Central District 2A boys basketball tournament.

The two teams were heading into a rematch but both lost district consolation semifinals games Monday on Presidents Day to end their seasons.

Foster and Olympic League champion Kingston will play for that final regional berth Tuesday night.

Foster beat Sequim 53-45 earlier in the day while Kingston got by Port Angeles 60-42 in the evening.

“I was really proud about the way we ended the season,” Port Angeles coach Wes Armstrong said.

The Roughriders end the season at 17-8, just a couple of wins short of state.
