Port Townsend, Port Angeles and Forks all lost state quarterfinal basketball games Thursday.
The Port Townsend girls lost 43-32 to Mount Baker in the Class 2A championship quarterfinals late Thursday night and now will face Cascade in the fourth-place semifinals today at 2 p.m. in a loser-out game at the Yakima SunDome.
The Port Angeles girls, meanwhile, lost 64-56 to Foss in the 4A tournament at the Tacoma Dome in a loser-out consolation quarterfinal game and the Forks boys lost 56-41 to Nooksack Valley in another loser-out contest at the 2A tournament in the SunDome during the morning consolation bracket.

YAKIMA — Ben VanDyken scored 15 points on 6-of-10 shooting to lead Nooksack Valley past Forks.
Nooksack Valley moves to the consolation semifinals today while the season is over for the Spartans.
Bruce Holz added 10 points for the Pioneers (18-6), the 2003 champions.
Nooksack Valley used a 27-13 scoring spurt in the second and third quarters to put the game away.
“We started really well both games,”‘ Forks head coach Scott Justus said. “The wheels just fell off a little bit.”
Forks led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter but trailed 26-18 at halftime after being held to four points in the second quarter.
“Nooksack got offensive rebounds and we gave up too many second-chance points,” Justus said.
Shawn Cole led the Spartans (15-10) with 15 points, and D.J. Huggins had 11 points and a game-high six rebounds.
VanDyken also had four rebounds, three assists and seven steals.
Jordan Justus had four steals for the Spartans while Fernando Contreras had five assists while Cole had three.
This was the final game for seniors Cole, Contreras, Ryan Hershey, Corey Black, Dustin Gaydeski and Mike Foster.
“Obviously we’re really going to miss Shawn Cole,” Justus said.
Cole was the team’s leading scorer on the season.
State 4A tournament Foss 64, Port Angeles 56
TACOMA — Shavon Tate scored 16 points and Foss posted a 64-56 triumph over Port Angeles.
Foss advances to the consolation semifinals today.
The Falcons (22-7) grabbed a 20-12 lead after one quarter and were never threatened. The Roughriders (17-9) shot just 33 percent from the field and turned the ball over 24 times.
Shaunt’e Nance and Jasmine Scott scored 13 points apiece for the Falcons, giving Nance 36 points for two days.
Port Angeles was led by Missy Minor’s 15 points while teammate Nicole Morgan had 12 points and eight rebounds.
This was the final game in the prep careers of Rider seniors Sarah Bussell, Sarah Wadley and Trisha Buckingham.
