Sports: Peninsula College women capture third in tourney

OREGON CITY, Ore. — The Peninsula College women’s basketball team captured third place at the Clackamas Community College Tournament on Sunday.

The Pirates, 2-1 on the year after going 2-1 in the tourney, beat Big Bend 73-59 on Sunday for third. Peninsula led 43-24 at halftime.

Trista White sparked the Pirates with 16 points and was named to the all-tournament team.

Leah Bradley also had 16 points while Alison Crumb knocked down 14 points and Suzanne Goplen-Dean had 10 points.

Danielle Larson led on defense with 15 rebounds while Heather Lizotte added 11 boards.
