PORT ANGELES — Peninsula College continues to roll big-time in men’s and women’s soccer action.
The teams swept Treasure Valley of Ontario, Ore., at Wally Sigmar Field on Saturday.
The men’s team ripped the Chukars 5-1 while the women destroyed Treasure Valley 9-2 after leading 7-0 at halftime.

Irvin Somera scored two goals for the Pirates while three others had a goal each.
The Pirates led 1-0 within 5 minutes thanks to a goal by Henrique Noujeimi while Alex Martinez added a goal at 14 minutes and Somera’s first score came at the 30-minute mark.
Daniel Gonzalez wasn’t far behind with a goal at 36 minutes while Somera concluded scoring for the Pirates with his final score at 45 minutes.
Aldo Flores of Treasure Valley ruined the shutout with a goal at 87 minutes.
“We played a really good first half, scoring early,” coach Andrew Chapman said.
“We ended up giving a penalty-kick goal in the 87th minute, which is very frustrating. We need to do better with giving those easy goals up.”
Martinez had two assists in the game while Brodi Keefe, Jake Forrester and Luiz Augusto earned an assist each.
Goalkeeper Guilherme Avelar had six saves for the Pirates while Peninsula outshot the Chukars 12-6.
The Pirates next play at Highline in Des Moines on Wednesday.

The Pirates remained perfect on the year at 2-0-0 in league and 7-0-0 overall.
Peninsula put the game away early, scoring at the 2-minute mark and ending the first half leading 7-0.
The second half was less lopsided as the Pirates scored twice — in the 46th and 53rd minute to make it 9-0, but Treasure Valley scored twice in the final 10 minutes of the game to avoid the shutout.
Peninsula goals were scored by Kendra Miner (2), Bri Afoa, Sydney Bullington, Annie Armstrong, Irene Jones, Morgan Atchley, Ashlyn Crossan and Briana Estrellado.
Jordan Dinneen and Alexadra Rojas-Ayala tallied three assists each.
“We had a great first half,” coach Kanyon Anderson said.
“We moved the ball quickly, we were intelligent with our decisions, we defended very well and we finished our chances.
“The second half was good until we lost focus. I am really disappointed that we gave up two goals at the end because we just stopped playing hard.
“I give credit to Treasure Valley for competing the entire 90 minutes and getting two goals at the end of the game.
“Hopefully we learn from that mistake before the Highline game [on Wednesday].”
The Pirates play at talented league rival Highline in Des Moines on Wednesday.
