EDMONDS — The Peninsula College women went on the road and beat Edmonds 65-47 on Wednesday night.
The Pirates were led by Jasmine Yarde, who scored 17 points, dished out eight assists, grabbed five rebounds and tallied five steals. She shot 3 for 5 on 3-pointers.
Taylor Larson also scored in double figures with 12 points.
“Nobody played over 30 minutes, so there was a lot of contribution from the entire team,” Peninsula coach Alison Crumb said.
Abigail Jones scored nine points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds for the Pirates.
In her second game back from injury, Jesse Ellis finished with eight points in 15 minutes.
Jessica Boyle let the Tritons with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and Jasmine McEachin had 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals.
The win evens Peninsula’s North Division record at 1-1 and its season record at 6-6. Edmonds falls to 0-2 and 4-9.
The Pirates next play at home against rival Skagit Valley (1-1, 9-6) on Saturday at 5 p.m.

EDMONDS — The Pirates were unable to earn a huge road victory Wednesday night in a battle of the two teams tied at No. 2 in the current NWAACC rankings.
Peninsula shot 53 percent in the game, but Edmonds topped that with 61 percent shooting, including 70 percent in the second half.
Shaq McKissic led the Tritons with 31 points on 12 of 18 shooting, including 3 for 6 on 3-pointers. He also had nine rebounds.
Ricardo Maxwell added 27 points and eight assists. He went a perfect 14 for 14 at the free-throw line.
For Peninsula, Xavier Bazile continued his recent offensive explosion with 29 points, which featured 6 for 8 shooting from beyond the 3-point line.
Salim Gloyd contributed 17 points and hauled in a team-high nine boards, while Djuan Smith scored 14.
Edmonds moves to 2-0 in the NWAACC North Division and 12-2 overall. One of the Tritons’ two losses was to the Pirates last month.
Peninsula (1-1, 10-5) looks to get back on the winning track when it hosts Skagit Valley (0-2, 7-8) on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Bazile honored
Bazile, a freshman guard from Tacoma, was named the NWAACC men’s player of the week for his performance in Peninsula’s 82-79 victory over Whatcom last week.
Bazile scored 28 points on 10 for 18 field goal shooting, including 4 for 8 on 3-pointers.
He leads the Pirates in scoring a 19.5 points per game, which places him 12th in the NWAACC.
