Sports: PA swimmers, divers lose to South Kitsap

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles High School girls swimming and diving team fell 102-84 to South Kitsap in Narrows League action on Tuesday at the William Shore Pool.

Bridget Crowley and Melanie Hyatt were the only first-place winners for the Roughriders in their final home meet of the year.

Crowley tied for first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.69 seconds and won the 100 free (55.03).

Hyatt scored a 146.15 in the 1-meter diving competition.

Port Angeles ended its league season with a 4-3 record in the Bridge Division of the Narrow League.

Sequim 7, Klahowya 0

SEQUIM — Kate Apple scored the first four goals of the game for the Wolves, all in the first half, as Sequim (5-5 in league) romped to a Nisqually League blowout on Tuesday.

Kendra Kokrda, Michelle Henry and Sarah White scored the other goals for the Wolves.

Annie Schaafsma assisted on Apple’s first and fourth goals and Shaina Smith got the assist on White’s score.

Sequim plays at Port Townsend on Thursday.

Boys Tennis Sequim 5, Chimacum 0

CHIMACUM — Joe Iverson and Josh Brocklesby won a tough No. 1 doubles match 6-3, 6-7 (6-8), 7-5 to help the Wolves continue their perfect season.

Sequim (12-0 overall) also got excellent play in No. 1 singles as Brian Poon won 6-2, 6-0 over Mike Gallant.

The Wolves host North Mason on Thursday.

Volleyball Forks 3, Tenino 0

FORKS — The Spartans remained perfect on the year and at least two matches ahead in first place with three to go with the Southwest Washington League victory.

Forks, 7-0 in league and 10-0 overall, won 25-11, 25-19, 25-15.

Sarah Potter sparked the Spartans with eight kills while Colleen Silcox had five kills, three stuffs and eight service aces.

Jennifer Daman added six kills while Selina Fletcher, the setter, had 25 assists.

Forks travels to Rochester on Thursday.
