PORT ANGELES — North Kitsap topped Port Angeles and Bremerton in both the boys and girls races during Wednesday’s cross country meet at Lincoln Park.
Port Angeles finished second in both portions of the meet.
The Vikings claimed the boys race with 22 points, the Roughriders had 36 and Bremerton finished with 85.
Tabor Reedy earned first place for North Kitsap in 16 minutes, 48 seconds, and Port Angeles’ John Christian was 28 seconds behind in second place in 17:16.
Cameron O’Neill was fourth in 17:24, Tavish Taylor was ninth in 17:51 and David Branham rounded out the top 10 for Port Angeles, also in 17:51.
The North Kitsap girls totaled 21 points, Port Angeles finished with 43 and Bremerton was third with 77.
Annelise Weinmann won the race for North Kitsap in 19:11.
Alison Maxwell was the highest-placing Rider, finishing third in 20:08. Chanda Romney was fourth in 20:37.
Hannah Wahto placed 11th in 22:32, Jayden Hoover was 12th in 22:40 and Jaime Gladfelter was 13th in 22:46.
OLYMPIC, PORT TOWNSEND AT SEQUIM
SEQUIM — Sequim managed a split of Wednesday’s Olympic League cross country meet at Robin Hill Farm County Park, winning the boys meet while finishing second in the girls contest.
Port Townsend, missing its top two boys racers in Bereket Piatt and Hab Rubio to illness, finished third in both races.
“Missing those two certainly skewed the results for Port Townsend, but I was really pleased with the way our teams ran,” Sequim coach Harold Huff said.
Sequim claimed the boys race with 25 points while Olympic had 48 and Port Townsend had 52.
Olympic’s Seth Bailey finished first in 16:57 followed by the Wolves’ Alex Jenkins in 17:11.
Colby Robb was third for Sequim in 17:38, Drake Apablasa was fifth in 17:39, Tyler Wilson-Walters was sixth in 17:52 and Joel Christopher was eighth in 17:54.
The Wolves varsity was missing Adrian Clifford, who has also been slowed by illness and ran and won the junior varsity race.
Mitchell Hubbard was the highest finisher for Port Townsend, taking seventh in 17:53.
Griffin Hoins was ninth in 17:56 and Xavier Frank was 10th for the Redskins in 17:57.
On the girls side Olympic notched 27 points, Sequim had 36 and Port Townsend ended up with 51.
The Wolves were missing defending Class 2A state champion Allison Cutting due to illness.
Taylor Roads won the race for Sequim in 20:59.
“Robin Hill is a difficult course, and that is a really good time,” Huff said of Roads.
Heather Murray was fifth for Sequim in 23:40, Amelia Ohnstad was eighth in 24:12 and Sarah Johnston was 10th in 25:09.
Port Townsend was led by Brittany Grant, who finished fourth in 22:24.
Iree Wheeler was 11th for Port Townsend in 25:11.
Sequim runs against Port Angeles and North Mason at Belfair next Wednesday while Port Townsend hosts the Fort Worden Invitational on Saturday.
