CLALLAM BAY — Neah Bay remained perfect and dominant by beating Clallam Bay 65-14 on Friday night.
Now the 1B No. 2 Red Devils will wait to see who they’ll face next Saturday to kick off the postseason.
They’ll face the winner of Tuesday’s game between Evergreen Lutheran and Lopez, which beat Crescent 34-14 on Saturday.
Neah Bay coach Tony McCaulley likes where the defending state champions stand.
“We’re healthy, which is good,” McCaulley said.
“My biggest concern is our players being over-confident.
“Every playoff run is tough.”
The Red Devils put the Bruins away quickly Friday, scoring 39 points in the opening quarter.
McCaulley then chose to take many of his starters out of the game to avoid key players sustaining injuries in the rainy weather conditions.
Clallam Bay coach Cal Ritter was said the Red Devils’ speed, defense and ability to capitalize on mistakes set them apart from most 1B teams.
“It was a tough night. Neah Bay is the state champions and they play like state champions,” Clallam Bay coach Cal Ritter.
“They jump on things and they don’t let up.
“But I’m proud of our kids. They never gave up, and that’s all you can ask for.”
Clallam Bay’s two touchdowns came in the second quarter.
Evan Messenger returned a fumble 68 yards and Casey Randall scored on a 33-yard run.
The Bruins are slated to host Muckleshoot in a crossover game next week.
Ritter is hopeful the game will happen, but admits there is always some doubt that Muckleshoot will have enough players to make the trip.

BELFAIR — The Bulldogs outscored the depleted Wolves 28-0 in the second half to earn the Olympic League’s fourth and final playoff spot.
The loss ends a painful season for Sequim (2-5, 2-7), which has decided to end its search for an opponent for next week.
Sequim took a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on an 18-yard touchdown run by senior running back Lopaka Yasamura, who rushed for 165 yards in the first quarter.
But the Wolves were missing a lot of players due to injuries and suspensions for violations of team rules and had a hard time generating much offense in the game’s final three quarters.
Austin Law played his first game at quarterback, filling in for starting quarterback Jack Wiker.
North Mason’s Chase Schoohovan recovered a fumble in the end zone, and the Bulldogs went into the final quarter with a 7-6 lead.
But a close game quickly got out of hand, as North Mason’s Levi Rowland hauled in a 14-yard touchdown pass from Matt Becker, and Tommy Renne scored on touchdowns from 32 and 17 yards out.
Yasamura finished with 197 yards on 22 carries. In Sequim’s last three games, the senior running back gained 591 yards on the ground and scored seven touchdowns.
After working for the last few weeks to find an opponent to play next weekend, athletic director Dave Ditlefsen told the Peninsula Daily News on Saturday that the Wolves have elected to not play a 10th game.
North Mason (4-3, 5-4) moves on to play South Puget Sound 2A champion Sumner next week.

HOQUIAM — The Grizzlies remained undefeated and dealt the Spartans a harsh ending to their season.
Forks (2-4, 4-5) was looking for a Week 10 opponent, but athletic director/head coach Mark Feasel told the PDN that many of his players have sustained injuries so the Spartans have decided to forgo a final game.
“They need to heel up and get ready for winter sports,” Feasel said.
The Spartans struggled against Hoquiam (6-0, 9-0), which locked down the SWL-Evergreen Division title and is ranked fourth in The Associated Press 2A poll.
Forks’ only touchdown came off an onside kick attempt by the Grizzlies in the third quarter. Leo Gonzalez picked it up before it and ran 48 yards for a score.

KINGSTON — The Roughriders (0-7, 0-9) remain winless while the Buccaneers secured a second-place finish in the Olympic League.
Kingston (5-2, 5-4) jumped on the Riders early, scoring 20 points in the first quarter and 14 more in the second.
Port Angeles’ lone score came on a 1-yard run by Brian Cristion in the third quarter.
It was the seventh time in nine games that the Riders failed to score in double figures.
Port Angeles might have one more shot at getting a win next weekend if they can find a team to play.
The Buccaneers will host Washington High School next week in the 2A West Central District tournament.
