Sports: Neah Bay, Crescent lose

NEAH BAY — Neah Bay High School got three touchdowns from Joe Chartraw but was unable to hold off Lake Quinault on Friday in a 38-20 nonleague football loss.

Lake Quinault scored three touchdowns in the third quarter to take the lead.

Chartraw led Neah Bay with 18 rushes for 54 yards. He also had six receptions for 92 yards.

Tim Greene was 10-for-15 passing for 121 yards with no interceptions for the Red Devils.

Both teams had fumbling problems. Neah Bay lost three of four fumbles. Lake Quinault turned over three of eight fumbles.

Greene had the Neah Bay defense’s only interception.

Neah Bay (3-3 overall) plays at Crescent this coming Saturday.

Taholah 61, Crescent 14

TAHOLAH — The Loggers were outmatched in a North Coast League game that was called halfway through the third quarter by 45-point mercy rule.

“(Taholah) onside kicked every time they scored,” Crescent coach Gary Kautz said.

Adam Waddell and Isaiah Bower scored the two Logger touchdowns.

Crescent (1-4 overall) plays two games this coming week. The Loggers host Chief Leschi on Tuesday and Neah Bay on Saturday.
