SPORTS: Loggers beat Sequim JV in boys basketball

SEQUIM — The Crescent boys basketball team rebounded to beat the Sequim JV squad 45-31 on Monday night.

The Loggers were coming off a 68-34 loss to Taholah on Saturday.

Derrick Findley led Crescent with 25 points and six rebounds.

Sage Fadness had a solid all-around game, scoring eight points to go along with seven steals, seven rebounds and five assists.

Gene Peppard grabbed 11 boards and contributed four points.

The Loggers’ offense finished both halves strong after slow starts in each.

They followed up a 4-point opening quarter with a 19-point second quarter.

In the second half, they only scored six points in the third quarter, but poured in 16 in the final period.

The Crescent defense followed also played its best in the second an fourth quarters when it allowed four and two points, respectively.

Next for the Loggers is a matchup at Clallam Bay tonight.
