PORT ANGELES — They may have gotten off to an inauspicious start, but Jodie Jones and Julia Cheney together have found their way on the softball field.
The senior pitchers from Port Angeles High School account for 12 of their team’s wins this season and will likely play a big factor in how far the Roughriders (16-3) go before the year ends.
A little “rally juice” may also help.
Port Angeles, the Narrows League’s No. 1 seed, opens the West Central District 4A Tournament at 3 p.m. Friday against Spanaway Lake at Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma.
The 16-team tournament concludes Saturday and seven of the teams will advance to regional state play.
